Approved providers assist injured workers in their recovery and return to work.
Our Role
An approved provider enhances the injury management process, assists with medical treatment, occupational rehabilitation and claims management.
Our providers give advice on treatment requirements. We also provide treatments and assessments of an injured worker’s functional ability.
We Collaborate
We adopt a coordinated approach with all parties involved in the injured worker’s case. A provider will work in collaboration with the injured worker, their employer, the insurer and a nominated treating doctor.
Our Providers
Our approved providers communicate with the injured workers insurer, treating doctor and employer to provide information the treatment required and how the treatment will assist their return to work.
Intervention
When approved, the insurer will pay for the cost of interventions that are determined reasonably necessary. The treatments must be considered:
Treatment plans are the means by which we inform the insurer of the outcomes that are anticipated to be achieved. This ensures effective monitoring of treatment and control of costs.
Accreditation
WorkCover NSW accredits providers and monitors their performance. To ensure quality service delivery, providers must have appropriate qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience to deliver services defined by

- Outcome based, demonstrating the results to be achieved from the intervention
- Cost effective
- The best option compared to other forms of treatment available
- Accepted by the professional body in achieving optimum recovery and return to work.

Injured Workers

- The worker’s name, contact details and claim number,
- The worker's employer's name and relevant contact details,
- The worker's employer's insurer's details,
- The worker's nominated treating doctor's details along with a referral, and
- Relevant details regarding the injury and context in which the injury occurred.
